OWEN SPENCE

ATLYX MUSIC

Owen is a 23-year-old resident in Atlanta, Georgia, and has spent far longer than anyone cares to admit studying how music works in video games. He loves to collaborate on large projects and is known in the Destiny community for various accomplishments, including the collaborative Geomantic albums and working to preserve the music of the Destiny video games.

Original projects include albums such as The Beastial Universe, This Christmas Night, and Bound By Luck and Fate. Owen also composes music for a number of occasions, such as holidays and friends’ birthdays, as well as miscellaneous pieces. Owen is also a hobbyist graphic designer and made many of the designs and images seen in Oakhost’s projects.

Owen works with Oakhost to archive aspects of video games such as music, sound effects, and art, as well as sourcing where samples came from. Owen has thoroughly documented video game music by Halo composers Martin O’Donnell and Michael Salvatori, and has worked to make their lesser-known soundtracks more accessible.

Owen also works with Odyssey Sound Team to recreate music from games such as Myth, Halo, and Septerra Core from scratch using the original hardware samplers the composers used. Owen is also recreating the soundtrack to Stubbs The Zombie in his spare time.

Owen’s current projects include The Discarded Instrument, an original album called Bound by Luck and Fate, and completing the upcoming Geomantic album.
