Hope for the Future is a song by Sir Paul McCartney that was originally written for the video game Destiny's Music of the Spheres album. In 2024, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the game itself, we released The Discarded Instrument, a collection of the full album for piano, authentically recreated using the orchestral scores from the original Abbey Road recording sessions, as well as the same virtual piano used to compose the album. As part of that, we created a piano version of Hope for the Future featuring lead vocals from Paulo Clayton, who also performed a backup vocal part based on a cut boys choir layer of the original song (the boys choir is a "Discarded Instrument" of the song, so its inclusion felt natural).

We’re thrilled to now be releasing the standalone version of the song, as well as an extra bonus piano cover of the rare Sweet Thrash remix of the song that we worked on with Xavier Scheetz. Paulo gladly returned to do the vocals for it, and we mixed this to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Sweet Thrash vinyl from Record Store Day 2015. We've also included a piano cover of the Beatsession Mix from Paul's original EP release, as well as a new piano mix based on the song's strings, brass, piano, and guitars. I also recorded new vocals for some of these mixes with Laura Intravia, the featured solo vocalist from the Destiny franchise. Additionally, we created a 3D-printable figurine of the character that Paul created when he played the original game before its release, inspired by the 3D-printable figurine of Paul himself that was produced with the original song's music video. Lastly, included herein, you'll find artwork by Lilian Brownlee of Sir Paul wearing the same armor as his character.
